Here is the schedule of questions:

October 5th – How to Approach the Bible for Answers

Questions Answered:

“Why did God have Adam name all the animals?”

“Why does Pierce say ‘the holy catholic church’ (referencing the Apostle’s Creed) when we aren’t part of the Catholic Church?”

“I read something that referred back to captivity in Babylon. What is the significance of that?”

“Were dinosaurs made during creation? Did they go extinct during the flood? Were they on the ark or not? Did they die another time? Give me all things dinosaurs and the Bible.”

“Why do some scientists find evidence of the earth being billions of years old when biblically it should only be around 6,000 years?”

Midweek Question – “Do you think Christians are missing the mark when it comes to authentically experiencing Jesus? If so, in what ways or areas are we missing the mark?”

October 12th – The Ins and Outs of Salvation

Questions Answered:

“What do I need to do to go to heaven and know for sure?”

“Why do some people (like babies or people who witnessed Jesus firsthand) get a “free pass” into heaven without having the make the choice (or the choice was made for them by seeing the blatant signs?)

“Does an adulterer still have a place in heaven?”

“Is there redemption even in hell? Can God forgive people already in hell?”

“I feel like it is hard for me to forgive myself for my sins. How can I fix that?”

“What’s the difference between works righteousness and Jesus’ claim that ‘those who love me obey my commands?’ If works matter, how can that not affect our salvation?”

Midweek Question – “Biblically, what is the role of parents after their children are grown and begin making their own lives and families?”

October 19th – OT God vs. NT God

Questions Answered:

“Why were the rules in the OT so contradictory to ways we live today? Some of the acceptable rules the Bible discusses in the OT almost sound like sins based on NT standards so how were they okay and godly?”

“In many situations in the OT, God allows or even causes war and slaughter to occur in his name. How can this same God be a loving God that loves all people as his children?”

Midweek Question – “Why did Uzzah die when he was only trying to do the right thing?”

October 26th – The Tension of Grace

Questions Answered:

“What does the Bible say about LGBTQ people?”

“What should the church do with transgenderism?”

“Why do people use the Bible to justify hate speech and hateful actions? How can we respond to it the way Jesus would?”

Midweek Question – “How did the imperfect come out of a perfect world first created by a perfect God?”

November 2nd – The Church and Politics

Questions Answered:

“How do we balance being patriotic with knowing that our ultimate citizenship belongs to heaven?”

“How can believers avoid getting swept up in fear or misinformation that is easily spread in today’s world?”

“How should the church engage in conversations surrounding immigration and injustice?”

“How should the church respond to the growing political division in the nation?”

Midweek Question – “What were God’s intentions for Job’s family?”

November 9th – The Spiritual Realms

Questions Answered:

“What does spiritual warfare look like in everyday life? What is the role of angels? Do we really have guardian angels?”

“Why doesn’t the church teach and address the subject of spiritual warfare more?”

“Why do burdens seem to come in numbers and problems compound?”

“How should Pierce be practicing the gifts of the Spirit (like tongues or prophesy) and how do we currently do that?”

“How do we pray faithfully and understand prayer while knowing that God often does not answer prayers?”

Midweek Question – “Why does God sometimes choose to answer prayers and sometimes chooses not to? How do we reconcile that with Matt 7:12 and John 16:23?”

November 16th – Bad Things Happen to Innocent People

Questions Answered:

“Why does God allow children to suffer?”

“Why does God allow some children to be taken from this world too soon?”

“Why do bad things happen to good/innocent people?”

Midweek Question – “Did Judas go to heaven because he believed in Jesus or does believing include actions as well and not just mere thought?”

November 23rd – What Comes Next

Questions Answered:

“What happens to the relationships we have between our family and friends in heaven? Do we know them the same way?”

“When we die, do we go straight up to Jesus or is it at the second coming?”

“Will we see our pets in heaven?”

Midweek Question – “Why do we only take communion once monthly and baptism twice yearly if both are means of grace by which God strengthens our faith? Also, what safeguards do we have in place to avoid ‘eating and drinking judgment upon ourselves’ (1 Corinthians 11:27-29) during communion? Do we ever effectively ‘excommunicate’ people or leave that responsibility up to the individual to discern for themselves?”
