Foundational Doctrine
Who is God?
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth and of everything that exists, seen and unseen.
Who is Jesus Christ?
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally existing by the Father and of one Being with the Father; through Jesus all things were made.
Why did Jesus become incarnate?
For us and for our salvation He came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became truly human.
How does Jesus save us?
For our sake He was crucified. He suffered death and was buried. He rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and His kingdom will have no end.
Who is the Holy Spirit?
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.
What is the church?
We believe in one holy catholic (universal) and apostolic church, the community of all true believers under the Lordship of Christ. It is our duty and privilege to worship in adoration, humility, and dedication in the presence of God. The assembling of the people of God for worship is necessary to Christian fellowship and spiritual growth.
What is baptism?
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. Being baptized is a sign of entrance into the household of faith. Baptism is a symbol of repentance and inner cleansing from sin, a representation of the new birth in Christ Jesus, and a mark of Christian discipleship.
What is our greatest hope?
We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.
