Daily Prayer for the Second Week of Advent
O Rising Sun come from Heaven,
shine on me.
Guide my feet into the path of peace,
Teach me to fix my eyes on you in hope.
As I turn my eyes upon you, your love begins
to dispel the darkness within.
The darkness is deep, and the night is long,
but my hope in you remains.
You are the Rising Sun, faithful to rise,
with mercies new each morning.
There is nothing I will face today
on which your light cannot shine.
I will rest in the tender mercy
of the Eternal God.
I will keep watch for the Rising Sun.
Daily Prayer for First Week of Advent
I stop to notice the breath in my lungs, a gift from the giver of life. I am alert and awake to your presence all around me.
As I walk through whatever this day holds, I will hold onto you. Teach me to walk at your pace, help me not to rush ahead or lag behind.
May the joy of your salvation not be reduced to a moment, but a lifetime of transforming friendship.
You are my wonderful counselor, holding all my anxiety, grief, and pain.
You are my mighty God nothing I will face today is beyond you.
You are my everlasting Father, you delight in being with me and you do not change.
You are my Prince of Peace—even in the chaos I can find rest in you.
