Michael Walter

Director of Youth Ministry

Michael has worked for nearly two decades as a producer and session musician with a variety artists including a handful of Dove and Juno award nominated and winning artists. He has also been serving as a worship and youth pastor in the Fort Wayne, IN area, and has also served nationally as a touring evangelist planting skate park parachurch ministries. His ministry work has primarily been within the Missionary Church, Church of Christ, and most recently the UMC. He was ordained in the Church of Christ in 2013. Michael attended Indiana University (IPFW) where he received Bachelor of Science in Music Performance, and moved on to complete Masters and Doctoral work in Worship and Ethnomusicology at Liberty University. Michael is also a professor of music at Indiana Wesleyan University and Huntington University, and has also been part of music faculty at Manchester University. Michael currently resides in Marion, Indiana with his wife, Vicci, and three children: Timothy, Carissa (Cj), and Theodore (Teddy). Vicci is a 6th grade teacher at Oak Hill Schools, but has spent over a decade serving in youth and worship ministry along side Michael. Vicci and Michael are passionate about kingdom growth, and have a deep love for the misfits, skaters, and punk rock kids in our midst.
